Every Arrangement Begins With One Stem

Every arrangement begins with one stem.

Just one.

Before there is colour, texture, movement or fullness, there is a single flower placed gently into the hands of the maker.

It may not look like much on its own.

But then another is added.

And another.

Some are tall.
Some are delicate.
Some are wild and unexpected.
Some are there to fill the spaces in between.

And slowly, almost imperceptibly, something begins to take shape.

A beautiful arrangement was never created all at once.

It was built, stem by stem.

I think life is much the same.

We often want to see the whole picture before we are willing to begin. We want to know where the road leads, how everything will work out, what the finished picture will look like.

But perhaps God rarely works that way.

Perhaps He simply asks us to trust Him with the next stem.

The next conversation.
The next yes.
The next act of obedience.
The next small beginning.

Because what looks insignificant in our hands may be the very thing He is using to create something beautiful.

Scripture reminds us:

“Do not despise these small beginnings.”
— Zechariah 4:10

Small beginnings are still beginnings.

A single seed can become a garden.
A single thread can begin a tapestry.
A single note can begin a song.

And one stem can become an arrangement.

So if your life feels unfinished right now, perhaps it is not because nothing is happening.

Perhaps God is simply still arranging.

Adding.
Removing.
Pruning.
Making room.
Changing the shape.
Bringing unexpected things together.

And perhaps the pieces that currently feel disconnected will one day make perfect sense when you are able to step back and see what He was creating all along.
